New registrations of electric vehicles increased by 70 percent in January and February 2017 to 5,845 units compared to the same period in the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Of this, 2,869 registrations were made for purely electric vehicles and 2,976 registrations for plug-in hybrid vehicles. With 2,136 new registrations, the VDIK members grew by 107 percent, above average in this segment, and their market share is currently 48 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Private customers recorded 1,573 registrations, the highest growth with a gain of 226\u00a0percent. Fleet registrations achieved 1,799 new registrations and rose by 86\u00a0percent compared to the same period of the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>VDIK president Reinhard Zirpel: &#8220;The funding measures for electromobility, in particular the environmental bonus, have been well received by customers.
