If Labb\u00e9 is elected by the Extraordinary General Meeting on December 4, 2024, she would succeed Andr\u00e9 Schmidt. Schmidt has led the association since the end of August and, together with two colleagues from the association&#8217;s Executive Board, was also responsible for finding a suitable person for the position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Imelda Labb\u00e9, we have been able to recruit a leader from the automotive industry who, if elected, will represent the interests of international vehicle manufacturers with vigor and diplomacy. Her many years of experience, including international experience, and in-depth knowledge of the industry will be invaluable to our member companies. Ms. Labb\u00e9 will continue to drive forward the realignment of the VDIK and make the voice of the association heard even more clearly in politics and in public,\u201d says Schmidt.<\/p>\n<p>Imelda Labb\u00e9 has been working in the automotive industry for 35 years and has held management positions in Germany and abroad during this time. For more than 20 years, Labb\u00e9 was with Opel and General Motors before moving to \u0160koda in the VW Group in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, she was a member of the VDIK Board of Directors in her role as Managing Director of \u0160koda Germany. Until June of this year, she was a member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management for the Sales, Marketing and After Sales divisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank the Executive Board for nominating me for election as President and would now like to ask all VDIK members for their trust. Together, we can make an even stronger and more visible commitment to the success of international vehicle manufacturers.
