Bad Homburg. In the first two months of 2017, the passenger car market grew by 16,490 units (+ 3.5 percent) to 485,001 passenger cars. This increase in volume is almost exclusively attributable to sales of the international motor vehicle manufacturers.

During this period, the VDIK member companies recorded an increase of about 10 percent, with additional sales of 15,905 units, and increased their market share to currently 36.3 percent. Among the top ten of the fastest growing brands are nine VDIK members.

VDIK President Reinhard Zirpel: “The growth of the passenger car market in Germany is attributable solely to the international motor vehicle manufacturers. The positive development of the VDIK members stands on solid ground due to the strong private demand.”
