Rescue data sheets

The continuous improvement of safety and technical equipment is an important goal in research and development for international vehicle manufacturers. At the same time, it is important to ensure that vehicle occupants can be rescued and cared for as quickly as possible in the event of an accident.

Rescue data sheets available online

In order to make the work of rescue workers easier in the event of an accident, the automotive industry has created a standardized presentation of technical information for rescuing occupants from vehicles. These are vehicle model-specific so-called rescue data sheets. The design was carried out in coordination with the Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (VFDB) and the rescue physicians.

In order to be able to handle the large number of rescue data sheets effectively, safely and up to date, VDIK and VDA together with Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT) and the Federal Ministry of Transport have initiated a forward-looking project. On behalf of VDIK and VDA, DAT developed software and a corresponding database called SilverDAT FRS. With the help of the software, rescue workers can call up the relevant rescue data sheet for an accident-damaged vehicle in fractions of a second via an online license plate query. In addition, there is absolute certainty that the correct data sheet for the respective vehicle will be downloaded.

The quality of the available information is guaranteed by contractual agreements between DAT and the automobile manufacturers. Only with the DAT software SilverDAT FRS does this contractual authorization by the vehicle manufacturers ensure that the latest information is always available and that the highest possible data quality is achieved.

Since many rescue data sheets are already available in several languages, it is possible to transfer the system to other countries. The connection to the automatic emergency call system eCall, which has been mandatory for all new vehicle types of vehicle classes M1 and N1 throughout Europe since March 2018, has already been taken into account in the DAT FRS software.
